William Shakespeare's famous Sonnet 18, published in 1609, with 14 lines of iambic pentameter, and the Petrarchan 'turn', or volta, between the 8th and 9th lines. It is hoped that the music captures these features, as well as the 'rough windes'. N.B. The text is as printed. One of my original compositions based on English sonnets.
