'The Convalescent'

This is my attempt musically, perhaps in the style of Edvard Grieg's Lyriska stykke,* to capture the essence of Gwen John's lovely masterpiece, 'The Convalescent'  (c.1923/24), held in The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. It is one of ten similar paintings showing the same girl silently sitting in a room suffused with soft, pale light. One of my latest original compositions.
